We hold a strong view of children being competent, curious, full of knowledge, potential, and interested in connecting to the world around them.

If you are looking for a small playgroup that practises calm, gentle and respectful teaching through play, The Tinker Yard will be a right fit.


Our playspace is intentionally designed and prepared to offer children beautiful, open-ended materials and experiences full of possibility in an environment that nurtures exploration, discovery, and creativity.

The Tinker Yard is a small, cozy & welcoming play and maker space. We hold one of the largest & most diverse collection of *loose parts in Singapore.

*Loose parts are materials that offer unlimited possibilities for open-ended play, exploration, creation, investigation and invention.

PLAY @ THE TINKER YARD
1 to 4 years old | Monday, Wednesday & Friday | 10am to 12pm | 3pm to 5pm
2 to 6 years old | Tuesday & Thursday | 10am to 12pm | 3pm to 5pm
1 to 6 years old | Saturday | 9am to 11am

Through sensory and messy play, children will develop important skills: cognitive, communication, social & emotional and motor skills. Sensory and messy play rocks at The Tinker Yard.

We are one of very few playspaces in Singapore that fully embraces messy play.



Play at The Tinker Yard is natural, child-led, unhurried and respectful of needs of children. This is a family-friendly mixed aged playgroup inspired by principles of play, development and learning from renowned early years approaches and philosophies.


Parents have the option to stay or do a drop-off. During the session, play leaders will share their experience & knowledge of play and early childhood education while children explore play invitations set out for them.

OPEN STUDIO
Ages 5 to 12 years old
Monday to Friday | 2pm to 3.30pm
Saturday | 1pm to 2.30pm


Open Studio sessions offer children a creative & inspiring space to tinker with engaging materials to create unique works of art or experiment with their own ideas.



These sessions nurture creativity and inspire invention & innovation in children. Children will experience the creative process and the joy of making with various materials in a collaborative and welcoming studio environment. Projects can be themed or open-ended. THE KIDS' TABLE
Ages 5 to 12 years old
Weekdays | 3pm to 5pm
Weekends | 2pm to 4pm

This is a mixed-age vegetarian cooking class for children, family style, to allow them to experience different types of natural food. Each month, we explore recipes that promote promote healthy eating and fun to prepare.



We will share recipes, provide ingredients and show children how to prepare meals from scratch. Children will be introduced to different tools used in food preparation and work cooperatively to complete the recipes. At the end of the session, they will have a portion of the healthy & delicious dishes to take home.

S.T.E.A.M. STORY CLUB
(S.T.E.A.M. stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics)
Ages 5 to 9 years old
Weekends | 10am to 11.30am | 3.30pm to 5pm


Children love picture books. What better way to introduce them to S.T.E.A.M. activities than through a good book. Connecting books with hands-on activities can help to enhance children's reading and also inspire them to create and explore.


Each unit will start with a reading of selected literature and thinking cap questions followed by a series of S.T.E.A.M. challenges based on the theme.



Children will have easy access to a wide selection of open-ended materials and research materials to support learning and working as a team to explore, investigate and come up with solutions to the challenges.

ADHOC CHILDMINDING

We also offer adhoc childminding services at your home or at our studio. Bookings are available for a minimum of 2 hours at the studio or 3 hours at your home.
