The Learning Caravan Teachers' Circle 2016

The Learning Caravan organizes study groups for early childhood educators. These study groups are small & informal professional learning circles for early childhood educators who are motivated to gain deeper understanding on how they could offer rich, authentic childhood experiences that deepen a child’s natural sense of wonder & imagination. The study groups run for 1 – 3 days.

The theme for study group is "The Power of Play." We would devote time to talk about the importance of play in the early years and how we could incorporate more play into our programmes for children.

The study groups are informal meetings with like-minded early childhood educators that are keen to develop deeper understanding of the emergent curriculum and principles of the Reggio Emilia approach.

Educators will visit different Reggio-inspired early-years centres, meet with with educators at the host centres, engage in dialogue with fellow educators and participate in group sharing & discussion sessions facilitated by the study group leader.

Spots are available on a daily basis up to 3 days. Early registration is advised in order to secure a seat in the study group. You can sign up for any number of places subject to availability of places.

Group Leader

The Learning Caravan Pte Ltd will assign a study group leader to take charge of the learning activities and school visits. The study group leader will meet with you and fellow participants at a city area venue for group travel arrangements to the schools.

This study group will give you the opportunity to see theories being implemented, gain deeper understanding of the emergent curriculum, engage in valuable discussions with global early childhood colleagues and generate fresh ideas that will transform their teaching practice.

Itinerary

Day 1 - Welcome Reception

A typical study group day would begin at 9am and end around 4pm.

A Welcome Reception would be organized for all participants one to two days before the first day of the study group. The reception would be for around an hour in the evening. The actual date & time of the welcome reception would be confirmed and notified to participants three months before the commencement of the study group.
